About Mark

Originally from Indiana, and Ohio, Mark moved to Sarasota in 1986. He graduated from the University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL, in 1991 and started in the golf business shortly thereafter. An accomplished player, Mark competed at the collegiate level and launched his professional career in 1993 as an assistant PGA professional at University Park Country Club, Sarasota, FL. In 1997 Mark earned full membership of the PGA of America and served as Director of Golf at Bent Tree Country Club from 2000-08.

During that fifteen year span the growth of golf course communities in the area expanded rapidly and Mark watched carefully as the various country clubs created their own message or niche in the market. This knowledge, coupled with a marketing mind, led Mark to start the area’s most prominent golf-related marketing company, Play Golf Sarasota, in 2009. For a decade, Play Golf Sarasota worked with over thirty area courses and private clubs providing expert advice to newcomers looking for the perfect fit for their new Florida lifestyle.

Mark's passion is the relationships built with clients during their relocation to Southwest Florida and assisting them in finding the perfect trifecta. The Home, Community, & Club Life they love. 

As a licensed Real Estate Broker with deep knowledge of the local market, in 2012 Mark was hired by prominent developer Kevin Daves, with Kansas based Core Development. Core developed the Sarasota Ritz-Carlton in 2000 and followed that marquis downtown project with an east manatee county luxury residential golf course development featuring a Jack Nicklaus Signature course that opened as the 2006 best new course in the country. The Concession is consistently ranked in Florida’s top 10 and the nation’s top 100. Mark spearheaded the Concession’s real estate division’s ascent out of the widely known recession and continued in that role through 2019, selling over $500 million in luxury new construction in the area’s ultimate golf community.

Combining the business of real estate and skillset of a PGA Professional came together full spectrum in 2018 when Mark spearheaded a group that purchased Heritage Harbour Golf Club. Since the acquisition, the property has seen growth in customers and revenues each year, successfully re-bonding with the local communities of Heritage Harbour and east Manatee County. In May of 2022, the County Commission unanimously approved Mark’s new vision for the property to include 100 rooms of lodging and 74 Villas in an expansion project that will further enhance the Golf Club and the Community.
